In my book THE MEETING OF TWO PERSONS, I discussed the social, political, and familial factors leading to emotional distress and the role of oppression. I suggested that society was 'ill' and that people had become apathetic, prone to taking abuse, and that society had offered its technologies and drugs to keep people in conformity. The Occupy movement is that hopeful awakening that I spoke of in this book, a movement that encourages young people to stand up against oppression and injustice.
